MAJOR. is aiming to let listeners know they’re not alone with his newest single “I Prayed For You (Said A Prayer).” The accompanying music video showcases MAJOR. taking a black and white ride along a deserted landscape as he “prays” out loud and unabashedly.
“I said this prayer,” he sings. “I prayed you take the moment. I prayed you take the time to see that you were special and always on my mind. I prayed for you.”
MAJOR. goes on to invite the listener take heed of the message in the song he’s singing especially for them. He asks if he can pray for them and then follows up with plans to do it anyway.
In the music video, MAJOR. has now exited the vehicle he was riding in. Donning a full suit with flowers in hand, he begins to walk as the vehicle follows him slowly behind.
“I spoke a word for you,” he sings as he saunters down a tar black road. “I spoke this word. I said end this senseless violence. Put a rest to prideful gain. There’s a message in the silence that can heal our earthly pain.”
The video soon transitions from black and white to full color as MAJOR. steps onto the beach and stands by the water as the waves lap the shore. The clip ends with him embarking into the ocean, seemingly baptizing himself as he continues to pray over the holy waters for our nation and our world.
“I Prayed For You (Said A Prayer)” is a soulful anthem that drives home a much needed message of faith, hope, and the power of prayer,” said MAJOR. in a statement, also calling its release “divine timing” in an interview with Get Up! Mornings with Erica Campbell last week.
